Project Overview
Most of the residents of Sega in Ugenya Sub-County, especially the elderly don’t have accounts or access to Online government services e.g. E-Citizen. My goal was to sensitize residents within the locality on the process and importance of registering for the government services. Rural Technology is key to improving livelihood of members in a rural community.
The biggest challenge in this project was actually access to internet. most of the residents were not willing to spend their internet bundles for the endeavor. I had mobilize some funds, with the help of my associates so as to assist the locals. now that every available local had internet connection, the next hurdle was to guide them on how to access the google application on their mobile phones as well as create E-mail addresses for those who didn’t have one.
Once the platform was set, the registration process went smoothly.
The whole process E-Government Services registration lasted two weeks. We have to divide the locals into groups of twenty five for ease of management. A total of seventy three locals managed to sign up for E-mail addresses as well as have active E-Government accounts on E-Citizen. We also guided them on how to safely manage and store their passwords for the different online accounts.

Sustainable Economic Growth in Kenya can only be achieved if there is equitable distribution of resources, including the rural areas.
Sustainable growth is key to improving the livelihoods of many Kenyans, especially in the rural areas. Technological advancements are dynamic and come with lots of benefits that can help locals in the rural sector improve their livelihood.
Ugenya Sub-County is growing at a fast rate with expansion of infrastructures in almost every zone, benefiting families, institutions, hospitals and schools equally. The National Optic Fiber Infrastructure (NOFBI) project by the Ministry of ICT has greatly assisted Government Institutions in Ugenya to fast track the delivery of services to the members of the public without hesitation. The bandwidth allocated is sufficient and stable to sustain members of the sub-county.
